[Hunting for a good quote]

Tuesday, June 26, 2007

I ask:

Between the wet and the dry,
There are curtains, square grills, two panels of glass and translucence.
Between out there and in here, there is vagueness.
The rain can be heard, but not be felt.
Between the wall that demarcates,
or the glossy white bouncing off-
that hopes to skirt and mark…
Between here and there, now and later;
between all betweens,
The glossy white shines inside but is wet outside.

In seeking certainty, betweens must cease, like a downpour.
With conviction, there is day, and there is night.

But there is midday, midnight and a wee morning
trailing.
Not omnipresent, but their existence
overlapping.

The rain continues, it is still wet outside and dry inside.
Between all betweens,
I pull the sheets and go to bed.
Wondering whether shadow(s) exist in singularity or plurality.

i was just thinking about the rain too. about how it was pouring so heavily it was scary and yet it was comforting to know that i am safe and dry at home...
i like your poem.

I was thinking abt those irritating "attracted to light" flies that always appear in one's house/room/toilet whenever it rains, and how I have to stop whatever what I am doing in order to annihilate them. Oh, here comes another one..."Piak!"

Take a step out into the rain,
Feel the beating and the pain.
Drenched from head to toe to experience it all,
Keep on wondering what is it for.

Wet outside and dry inside,
Roaring thunders by bedside.
Hearing it I yield no shrill,
But deep in me I gave a chill.

Warmth of the sun I now crave,
Cos' coldness was all the rain has gave.
Less no boundaries when the sun is out,
For the energy and strength it all burst out.
As I feel the heat around,
The smile grows as it all surrounds...

Hmm... Just anyhow write one... ;) But hopefully I get something through. (:
