It brings to mind the dictatorial, and hard-fisting approach in the way things are organized here. But Singaporeans accept the way things are, without any question. You know, I was considering heavily to vote for the opposition in the last GE, but a thought entered my head: what if the opposition wins in this ward, who gets to become PM?
I was voting in the constituency where PM Lee is the MP in.
We also have plenty of lecturers and profs who are so-called anti-establishment, especially in the Soci dept. Academia has become an indirect route for pple with pent-up grouses to fully publish and clarify their disdain with policies and regulations here.
What we study deals with giving a vocal platform to and ultimately supporting pple like Afian. Sometimes I feel that I should be on the fence, cos I feel I don't have the tenacity and decisiveness to take a side.
